Bankers

I don't always agree with Gary Trudeau, but he got it right in his Doonesbury cartoon entitled "A Banker's Progress:"

The college graduate: "I hope to do something of value well and be fairly paid."

In his first job: "I'd like to be paid for doing something of value fairly well."

As a middle manager: "I want to be valued and paid fairly well for doing something."

As a vice president: "I deserve to be paid well for doing something of no value."

As a president: "I demand to be paid obscenely well for destroying value."

To college graduates: "Always hold on to your values."

So true, so true...
